At Smithdown Primary School, we are proud to offer additional support in developing pupils understanding of the English language. Our dedicated language support teacher, Ms Siddiqui, works alongside the class teacher to plan a bespoke curriculum for smaller groups of pupils.

In the last 2 weeks the children have been learning about the types of jobs there are in the Emergency Services. During this time we were lucky enough to have a visit from the Fire officers in their engine. #smithdownlanguage @SmithdownPr
This week the language class have been looking at going on a journey. On Friday Miss Mcfarlane invited us to make journey sticks #smithdownlanguage @MissMcFarlane the children chose the colours based on how they felt.
Our focus last week was learning about a bakery. We looked at key vocabulary for items we could buy. On Friday we were lucky enough to visit a local bakery. The children enjoyed sandwiches and donuts 🙂

For our Bonfire Night celebrations, the children in the Language Support Class enjoyed a campfire on 5th November. They enjoyed marsh mellows & hot chocolate all provided by Miss McFarlane. Thank you Miss @SmithdownPrimR #smithdownlanguage
